Spam Laws
The Australian Spam Act came into force on April 11th 2004. Although this
law is aimed at major offenders, it affects all businesses and organisations who
send email. The Act is enforced by the Australian
Communications Authority. See their FAQ,
guides for business and consumers. See also the Electronic
Frontier Australia Analysis of this Spam Law
Emails sent by ChristmasCountdown.com.au
Our newsletters are opt-in, plain text emails. They never have
attachments. You will receive them if
- you give consent by subscribing on a form like
this, or
- you provide consent in another manner (eg discussion with our staff)
- you have a business relationship with us
- as a courtesy to let you know your business has been mentioned
Viruses and Emails that look like the come from us
Many viruses and some spammers spoof email addresses. If you've received a
virus message that has our address as the sender, that does not mean that the
virus came from us. It could have come from anyone who has looked at our pages
and who also has your email address somewhere on their computer. This is as
frustrating for us as it is for you. We never send emails with attachments. If
you receive an email claiming to be from us with an attachment, please delete
it without opening it.
Commercial emails sent to us
- For any genuine commercial enquiry, please send plain text emails
only.
- We welcome emails from readers.
Questions or complaints

Do you see any pop-up advertising here?
We don't use pop-up ads at BCL. If any adverts open on top or behind
BCL pages, you have probably got spyware on your computer.
